Alí Marín, originario de Veracruz, México, comenzó su carrera como fotoperiodista en una agencia de noticias local antes de pasar al medio documental. Su enfoque se centra en contar historias que son esenciales para comprender su identidad y raíces, así como la historia y la cosmovisión de México y Latinoamérica. Marín explora los vínculos entre los seres humanos, la naturaleza y la identidad, a través de archivos, fotografía directa, video y sonido.

Ha sido seleccionado como uno de los 100 finalistas en Panorama Latino Americano en el Festival Photo Vogue en Milán (2025) y en el 7th Annual Latin American Foto Festival 2024 para el Bronx Documentary Center. También fue nominado para el Joop Swart Masterclass del World Press Photo (2024) y seleccionado por el Kranj Fotofest en Eslovenia bajo el tema ‘Human – Nature’ (2023), y es finalista del premio Nuevas Narrativas Medio Ambientales (2021).

Alí Marín, from Veracruz, Mexico, began his career as a photojournalist at a local news agency before transitioning to documentary work. He focuses on telling stories essential for understanding his identity, roots, and the current worldview of Mexico and Latin America. Marín explores the connections between humans, nature, and identity through archives, direct photography, video, and sound.He has been selected as one of the 100 finalists in Panorama Latino Americano at the ninth edition of the Photo Vogue Festival in Milan (2025) and the 7th Annual Latin American Foto Festival 2024 for the Bronx Documentary Center. Additionally, he was nominated for the Joop Swart Masterclass by World Press Photo (2024) and selected by the Kranj Fotofest in Slovenia under the theme ‘Human – Nature’ (2023). He is also a finalist for the new environmental narratives award from the Lagacilly Photo Festival and Fisheye Magazine (2021).
